Talk Title: Virtual Reality, a Knowledge Tool for Cultural Heritage

Aim of the Special Session
The event will provide an opportunity to exchange opinions, experiences and proposals on the best virtual tools for the Cultural Heritage, mainly applied to architectural, archaeological sites and/or museum objects. Interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary researches concerning both innovative Cultural Heritage Informatics and use of technology for the 3D representation, either dynamic or not are waited for presentation. The scope includes the main 3D phases of CH information technology: initial data capture/digitization, visualization, simulation, rapid prototyping and dissemination of results to the scientific community and the general public.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Reproduction Techniques and Rapid Prototyping in CH
- Data Acquisition Technologies focusing on Photogrammetry and Laserscanning
- Virtual restoration in sculpture
- Polychromy, simulation and spectral rendering
- 3D Data Capture and Processing in CH
- Sub-aquatic 3D capture
- Visualisation Techniques (desktop, VR, AR)
- Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and mobile devices
- Non-Photorealistic Rendering of CH Data
- Computer Animation for CH Applications and Virtual Heritage
- Virtual Museum Applications (e-Museums and e-Exhibitions)
- Novel Internet-based CH Applications
- Usability, Effectiveness and Interface Design for CH Applications
- Innovative Graphics Applications and Techniques
- Interactive Environments and Applications
- Archaeological Analysis and Interpretive Design
